Here for you.
Full Circle Pelvic Health is a physical therapy clinic in Rhode Island that’s dedicated to helping women and men with pelvic floor issues feel better through focused rehabilitation and specialized care. Our primary therapist is skilled at the highest level of training in pelvic health with over 14 years of clinical experience in pelvic floor physical therapy and over 30 years in health & fitness. We incorporate orthopedics, pain science and mindfulness, exercise science, manual therapies, athletic training, and yoga into therapy sessions in order to treat the whole person with a comprehensive approach.
At your first appointment, your therapist will obtain a thorough history with you to best understand your situation. Additionally, your assessment may include analysis of posture, body mechanics, the range of motion of specific joints (including the spine), strength, musculoskeletal and connective tissue and pelvic floor function. We also work with physicians, mental health specialists, and other providers to coordinate your treatment. For your benefit, we accept most insurances. Call 401-320-7101 to find out more.
At Full Circle Pelvic Health, we make sure you get the complete, integrated care you need for optimal recovery. Better quality for better care.
While there are common pelvic health problems for all genders, men have a few that women don’t. Many of these men’s health concerns involve the male pelvic area and associated muscles. When the muscles in your pelvic floor aren’t cooperating like they should, you can have issues like groin pain, genital/perineal or abdominal pain, sexual dysfunction, incontinence or constipation.
The good news is that pelvic floor muscles respond really well to training like any other muscle in the body. That’s where pelvic floor rehabilitation comes in. Pelvic floor therapy will teach you how to stretch, strengthen and move in painfree ways. This will help you restore the length-tension relationship of your core, pelvic floor and hip muscles in order to relieve pain, improve function, and optimize movement and performance for your whole-body and mind. Women’s health requires special attention to the changes a woman’s body experiences throughout her/their lifetime. Our primary therapist is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health who will help you understand, manage and in most cases eliminate urinary or fecal incontinence, overactive bladder, prolapse, bladder or pelvic pain, back pain and other joint and muscular issues during menses, midlife, menopause, pregnancy, and post- partum.
Physical therapy has been successful in helping many types of sexual dysfunction including vaginismus, dyspareunia (pain with intercourse), pelvic floor tension myalgia, vulvodynia, and perineal or scar pain. Issues like constipation, straining and incomplete bowel emptying may indicate that your pelvic floor muscles are not cooperating as well as they should to maintain healthy bowel regularity. Pelvic floor therapy can help you to restore muscle coordination and function to improve bowel, bladder and sexual health for all these important activities of daily life. Questions? Contact our office by calling (401) 320-7101.
